Siena Pack, On a Notable Miami Moment

Why Miami?

I chose Miami because of their strong Political Science program, the beautiful campus, amazing academic resources, and the professor to ºÚÁÏÉçÇø ratio. It was the first campus that I visited that I completely fell in love with, and I have enjoyed my time spent here thoroughly.

How did you choose your major?

I have always been very interested in politics and government, and I have had it decided as a freshman. Throughout my time here though I have broadened my studies, by adding a history and SLAM minor which has been very interesting as well.

Key Moment at Miami

I have had many influential academic experiences at Miami, but one that really stands out to me is the Intro to Critical Race and Ethnic Studies class that I took freshman year. This course is something that I found was very unique, as it shined light on historical events and facts that are not commonly known, and it vastly helped to increase my interest in history - leading me to add it as a minor and take lots of other intriguing history classes such as War and the American Experience, etc.

Other Notable Experience

I participated in Miami's Inside Washington program this past summer, and it was one of the most influential experiences that I have had throughout my academic career. It helped to elevate my level of professionalism and work ethic, along with being very inspired by the different speakers that came and talked to our group. We were able to fully immerse ourselves in the culture of D.C. and we were able to experience so many once-of-a-lifetime opportunities, such as meeting with Justice Sotomayor.

What are your career goals?

I hope to attend law school and become a sports lawyer, but I may take a few years in between graduating from Miami to work in Washington D.C.
