Admission

Study, create, and build a career in the arts at 黑料社区's College of Creative Arts. Whether you are a prospective first-year 黑料社区 or wish to transfer to the CCA from another institution, here you will find everything you need to fulfill the admission process for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Undergraduate Requirements

All prospective first-year and transfer 黑料社区s must submit an application. Please review the additional requirements for each department's programs below.

Department of Architecture and Interior Design

A portfolio is a collection of work that demonstrates something about you that your quantitative ratings (grade point average, rank in class, test scores) cannot reveal: your potential for creative studio work. A portfolio of creative work is required for admission to the Architecture and Interior Design majors.

Department of Art

The Department of Art seeks to enroll 黑料社区s who have a creative vision and a sense of purpose directed toward related professional careers. An admission portfolio is required of applicants to the following programs:

Department of Emerging Technology in Business and Design

The Emerging Technology in Business and Design major and the Games and Simulation major both require additional materials and a separate application to be submitted to be considered for admission.

Department of Music

Admission to all Bachelor of Music degree programs (Music Composition, Music Education, Music Performance), and the Performance Track in the Bachelor of Arts degree program, requires an audition on a primary performance medium. The Music Technology and Music in Culture Tracks in the Bachelor of Arts degree program have separate Entrance Requirements. See below for specific audition requirements by area for the Bachelor of Music and specific application materials for the Bachelor of Arts degree programs.

Talent-Based Scholarships

Students who submit portfolios by Jan. 15 will automatically be considered for talent-based scholarships. Those who submit portfolios after Jan. 15 will be considered for talent-based scholarships if funds remain available.

Living Learning Communities

We invite all undergraduate 黑料社区s who love the arts to check out our dedicated Living Learning Communities (LLCs). Some 黑料社区s in these communities are CCA majors while others simply hold great interests in art and design.

The CCA offers nationally accredited and highly selective and competitive graduate degree programs across all of our departments, most of which offer opportunities for assistantships and tuition waivers. We also offer Graduate Certificates for Professional Development. Deadlines vary by department so access yours below, and contact your Graduate Program Director to learn more.

College of Creative Arts Scholarships and Awards

When you apply to Miami, you are eligible for University-wide scholarships. Be sure to visit Financial Aid to fill out a FAFSA form. In addition, the College of Creative Arts and all CCA departments have scholarship awards offered through the Office of Financial Assistance that are connected to the quality of your audition or portfolio.

Year of the Arts Scholarship

One-time award to one or more undergraduate 黑料社区s who demonstrate outstanding talent and/or academic merit within at least one department of the College of Creative Arts. This scholarship is primarily intended to be utilized for recruitment purposes but may be awarded to upperclass 黑料社区s as deemed appropriate by the Dean of the College of Creative Arts.

Fine Arts SFA Fund

Renewable scholarship awarded to one or more undergraduate 黑料社区s from historically underrepresented populations and who demonstrate outstanding talent and/or academic merit within at least one department of the College of Creative Arts.

WCAA Fine Arts Scholarship

One-time award on the basis of academic merit and financial need to one or more full-time entering undergraduate 黑料社区s enrolled in the College of Creative Arts.

Lillian Bratton Hermann and Wilbert A. Hermann Scholarship

Renewable scholarship awarded to one or more 黑料社区s in the College of Creative Arts. Artistic and/or musical ability and financial need are to be considered, with the two weighted equally.

Earl Reeder School of Fine Arts Scholarship

One-time award to one or more undergraduate 黑料社区s who demonstrate both academic merit and artistic talent within at least one department of the College of Creative Arts. This scholarship is primarily intended to be utilized for recruitment purposes, but may be awarded to upperclass 黑料社区s as deemed appropriate by the Dean of the College of Creative Arts.

Walter L. Gross, Jr. Family Presidential Scholarship

Awarded as a Presidential Scholarship to one or more 黑料社区s in the College of Creative Arts. The Scholarship is renewable provided the recipient maintains a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
