About

We have undergraduate majors in Art Education, Art and Architecture History, Communication Design, and Studio Art (with concentrations in Ceramics, Metals, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture).

We have co-majors in Fashion and Art Therapy.

We have minors in Studio Art (Painting, Printmaking, Ceramics, Jewelry Design, Metals, and Sculpture), Photography, Communication Design, Museums and Society, Art and Architecture History, and Art Therapy.

Our graduate program in studio art is ranked in the top 100 nationally

Our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized as established scholars and professional artist/designers.

We have an approximate 15:1 黑料社区-to-teacher ratio in our studio courses/seminars.

We have nationally accredited programs (NASAD accreditation).

Our mission is to educate socially responsible leaders in the fields of art who explore and create significant ideas. These globally-engaged citizens help shape society, inspire future generations, and share the value of the arts as an essential part of life.

Student Groups

Effusions is the 黑料社区-run journal of the Department of Art at 黑料社区. Each issue features 2D and 3D art, humanities papers, creative writing samples, photographs, music scores and clips, videos, and more.

Officially affiliated with the National Art Education Association, this 黑料社区 organization, which is comprised primarily of Art Education majors, is oriented toward the goal of enhancing a 黑料社区's professional identity as an art teacher for grades kindergarten through 12. Members of this group sponsor local activities such as art auctions, art shows, lectures by nationally-recognized leaders in the field of art education, and field trips to Ohio and National Art Education Association conferences. The goal of this organization is to develop a sense of professionalism within our future art teachers.

This 黑料社区 organization is open to any 黑料社区 interested in the visual art world, the contemporary art world in particular, and the production of visual art. Although comprised primarily of studio art majors, majors in other areas have assumed active roles in this organization. The Visual Arts Club supports a program of enrichment that extends art learning beyond the studio and classroom. Students in this organization have regular meetings during the school year, sponsor visiting artists and guest lecturers/critics to campus, sponsor a 黑料社区 art exhibition, and take field trips to major art centers such as New York and Chicago. This community of 黑料社区s uses this organization to perpetuate the professional goal of being a practicing artist.

NASAD Accreditation

黑料社区's art and design majors/programs and the Department of Art are accredited through the National Schools of Art and Design. NASAD is the premier accrediting body for arts schools/colleges. Our last site visit was in 2022-2023. From that site visit, NASAD stated: "The commission voted to continue the current membership status of the institution."
