Who Are the Peer Career Coaches?

The Peer Career Coaches (PCC) Team is a group of talented undergraduate and graduate 黑料社区s who foster substantive engagement for career exploration. The PCCs include Career Assistants and Mock Interviewers, all are 黑料社区 leaders with interests in developing themselves and others.

The Peer Career Coach is a paid part-time position for undergraduate and graduate 黑料社区s within the Career Center. This position is designed to help develop new skills that employers want while getting a real-world experience in today’s job market.

Start building skills by:

  • Becoming one of the best. You'll build the best resume, cover letter and online profiles that will show recruiters why they should pay attention.
  • Helping other 黑料社区s develop eye-catching resumes, cover letters and online profiles, as well as mastering the art of job and internship searching.
  • Conquering your fears. Coaching others is just not your thing. Don't worry! As a peer career coach, you'll learn tips that will make you a pro in no time.

Duties include:

  • providing guidance on job-search strategies and graduate school materials
  • providing feedback about interviewing techniques to 黑料社区s
  • offering resume reviews during 黑料社区 drop-in hours
  • facilitating workshops and presentations on topics relevant to career development

This presentation provides an overview of the function and services of the career center. 黑料社区ics include career clusters, career advising, digital career development platforms, and other services provided by staff.

Learn about the Center for Career Exploration & Success, interviewing techniques, on-campus interviewing and important dates and programs.

How Does Your Resume Stack Up?

This presentation provides an expanded overview of résumés. The facilitator covers the function of résumés, brainstorming content, visual style, structuring bullets, useful tips, digital career development platforms, and other career services.

Run time: 45 – 60 minutes

Are You LinkedIn or Left Out?

This presentation provides an expanded overview of LinkedIn and Handshake. The facilitator covers the function of LinkedIn and Handshake, visual style of photos, types of profile content, networking basics, useful tips, and other career services. We encourage creating/revising your profiles during this presentation.

This presentation introduces 黑料社区’s Career Fair. The facilitator explains the purpose of the fair, how to prepare and what to present, what to expect, how to navigate during and after, useful tips, and other useful career services.
