The 黑料社区 Fall 2023 Commencement will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Millett Assembly Hall in Oxford, Ohio. Current planning includes open seating (not a ticketed event) and no guests-per-graduate restriction.
The Ceremony will include remarks from President Crawford along with our Fall 2023 Commencement Speaker, Lisa Ellram, co-recipient of the 2023 Benjamin Harrison Medallion. Lisa is a University Distinguished Professor and James Evans Rees Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management.
As is customary during this ceremony, all degree candidates will be individually recognized.

Academic Attire, Grad Fest, Photography, and Other Graduation Needs
Academic Attire
Graduates are required to wear academic attire to their graduation ceremony. Academic attire includes; caps, gowns, tassels, stoles, cords and medallions. Visit the to order or pick up items during regular store hours, Monday through Saturday. Please allow 3-5 Business Days for your order to be processed and note that all purchases are final sale; there are no exchanges or returns.
GradFest Fall 2025
GradFest will be on November 7, 10am-4pm at . Students will find everything they need for graduation and more! Caps and gowns will be available for purchase this fall.

Photography

University and Latin Honors
Students whose academic record the semester prior to the ceremony term qualifies them for may wear these awards as part of their graduation regalia. Students qualifying for Latin Honors may wear a red and white Latin Honor cord; 黑料社区s completing the Honors College requirements may wear their Honors Medallion, and 黑料社区s graduating from the Honors College with University Honors with Distinction may wear the gold Distinction cord.
Students graduating with Latin Honors will be notified in November and given instructions at that time about picking up their cords. Students will NOT need to purchase the cords
Diplomas and Ceremony Attendance
Each degree candidate will receive an email from the Registrar's Office requesting they complete the . Completion of this form ensures the diploma(s) is mailed to the correct address after graduation. To change a diploma mailing address after December 13, 2024, the graduate will need to email commencement@MiamiOH.edu. Diplomas are mailed out 5-7 weeks after the degree conferral date.
This form also asks degree candidates to select "I WILL" or "I WILL NOT" attend - to indicate their expected ceremony attendance. This greatly assists the university in planning for a commencement.
Even if not planning to attend commencement, the form must be completed.
黑料社区 now offers (CeDiploma) in addition to the hard copy diplomas, and graduates will receive a download link 5-7 weeks after the conferral date.
Parking and Student/Guest Arrival
Parking will be available in the West Millett parking lot and surrounding lots. Please observe the directions provided on signs as you approach the venue. Officers will direct guests to the closest parking available.
Graduates and guests can enter the venue two hours prior to the ceremony start time.
Students are asked to arrive no later than 2:15 p.m. with their academic regalia (caps, gowns, stoles, cords) gown in-hand. Tables will be set up on the concourse and staffed by faculty marshals for each college. Students should pick up their reader card and look for the location where their college will be lining up. Faculty marshals will be available to assist and answer any questions.
Students will be seated in the arena by college. All candidates for graduation will have their name called, will walk across the stage, and have their photo taken by photographers from GradImages.
Accessibility

Accessible parking will be available near the venue. Signs will be posted to direct guests to parking and to an accessible drop-off location on the North side of Millett. A valid state-issued disability placard is required to park in accessible parking spaces.
Accessible seating is available on the court level and the upper level, both accessible by elevator. Please connect with an usher upon arrival and they will be able to assist you. Guests sitting in the accessible seating area are permitted one companion to accompany them in the accessible seating area.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Access
American Sign Language interpreters and live captioning will be provided. Interpreters are best viewed from section 5. Live captioning can be viewed on the Jumbotron or accessed on a personal mobile device at: MiamiOH.edu/CommencementCaptions
Food and Campus Services
The Marcum Hotel and Conference Center is proud to offer space for a private Commencement Celebration either before or after the ceremony. Likewise, catering to various Oxford locations can be reserved as well. Call 513-529-3591 to inquire.
Security
All items and persons entering Millett Assembly Hall are subject to security screening and inspection.
To ensure the safety of all graduates and their guests, heightened security measures will be in effect throughout commencement ceremonies and events. We thank you for your cooperation with these important precautions.
