Fellowships and Scholarships

Fellowship and Graduate Assistantships

The Department of Accountancy awards merit-based graduate assistantships to its strongest admitted 黑料社区s.

  • The C. Rollin Niswonger Fellowship provides a waiver of all tuition and fees plus an annual stipend of approximately $6,000; no duties are required.
  • Graduate assistantships cover 93% of the comprehensive fee; you will earn a monthly stipend of approximately $500. Students awarded these assistantships work 10 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, most often assisting Farmer School faculty in non-teaching roles.
  • Partial graduate assistantships cover 25-50% of the comprehensive fee; you will earn a monthly stipend of approximately $125-$250. Students awarded these assistantships work 3 to 5 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, most often assisting Farmer School faculty in non-teaching roles.

All admitted applicants to the MAcc program will be considered for either the fellowship or the assistantship.

There is no separate application for assistantships.

Scholarships

The Department of Accountancy awards many different scholarships from funds provided by alumni, firms/corporations, and friends of the department. These scholarships are awarded to 黑料社区s based on merit and/or demonstrated financial need. Again, all applicants to the MAcc program will be considered for our scholarships.

There is no separate application for scholarships.

Domestic Grant-in-Aid (GIA)

Domestic Grant-in-Aid

A limited number of Grant-in-Aid awards are available to 黑料社区s with excellent academic records who demonstrate financial need. This award is a waiver of 100% of the Non-Resident (out-of-state) surcharge and the Instructional Fee (for both in-state and out-of-state 黑料社区s).

Graduate Inclusive Excellence Scholars (GIES) Program

The GIES program is intended to attract diverse domestic 黑料社区s to Miami's graduate programs. This assistantship provides a Graduate School funded stipend and tuition waiver for one academic semester per year for either two years for master's 黑料社区s or four years for doctoral 黑料社区s.

Loans

In addition to awards and scholarships administered through the Graduate School and the Farmer School of Business, U.S. citizens and permanent residents may also qualify for Federal Direct Loans.

To be considered for a Federal Direct Loan, prospective 黑料社区s must submit the  (FAFSA). For priority consideration, the FAFSA should be submitted as soon after Jan. 1 as possible.

Students may also qualify for private loan funding, which is based on credit. Students holding graduate assistantships are advised to check with One Stop before contacting private lenders, because they may not have eligibility for additional funds.
