On the program, hosted by CBS New Correspondent Jeff Pegues (Miami '92), Coates breaks down the history of the America’s newest federal holiday, Juneteenth, signed into federal law by President Biden June 18. Pegues is also joined on the program by Michael Harriot of The Root-dot-com, Washington Post’s Michelle Singletary, and Mary Elliot, a curator at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Pegues, who was Miami’s 2019 spring commencement speaker, was appointed a ºÚÁÏÉçÇø national trustee by Miami’s board of trustees in January 2020.
