Work in Progress

I am completing a textbook overview of the Weimar Republic—Germany between 1918 and 1933—on behalf of Routledge Press.  I am also finishing the edits and introductions for a revised collection of online documents (in English translation) for the “Weimar Republic” section of the website German History in Documents and Images (GHDI), supported by the German Historical Institute (Washington, D.C.).  The relaunch of this free online resource for teachers of German history in the English-speaking world, including all areas from the Reformation to the present, is anticipated for 2022.

Finally, I am working on a biography of the early 20^th-century writer, athlete, and tastemaker Paula von Reznicek, situated against the backdrop of German history. The focal point of this project will be the 25-volume diary that Reznicek—who was half Jewish—kept while accompanying her celebrity husband on a morale-building tour of the front lines of the German war front during the Second World War.
