Hongmei Li
Dr. Hongmei Li (Ph.D., University of Southern California) is an associate professor and the coordinator of Strategic Communication at 黑料社区. She has published widely in the areas of advertising and consumer culture, Chinese culture and society, gender and sexuality, national branding and public diplomacy, global communication, new communication technologies, and corporate social responsibility.
She is the author of Advertising and Consumer Culture in China and editor of The Middle Class Phenomenon in Emerging Markets: Consumers, Lifestyles and Societies. Her works have appeared in top journals such as Communication Theory, Critical Studies in Media Communication, Journal of International & Intercultural Communication, International Journal of Communication, Public Relations Review, Chinese Journal of Journalism & Communication and many other top journals and important book collections.
She worked as an editor and copyright manager at the Central Translation and Compilation Press in Beijing before pursuing her PhD at the University of Southern California. She was a George Gerbner Postdoctoral fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication, the University of Pennsylvania in 2008-2010.
