Amy Restorick Roberts, PhD, MSSA, LSW, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Science and Social Work at 黑料社区 in Oxford, Ohio. Dr. Roberts is a graduate of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Her university affiliations include: the Doris Bergen Center for Human Development, Learning, and Technology, and the Scripps Gerontology Center. She has recently been recognized as a Fellow by the Gerontological Society of America. With nearly a decade of post-masters practice experience working in a continuing care retirement community, her scholarship aims to improve the quality of life of older people. Within this realm, her research focuses on social service staffing in nursing homes, adult guardianship, and family caregiving to strengthen systems of long-term care services and supports.
Professional Experience
With nearly 10 years of post-masters experience as a professional social worker serving older adults and their families, I share my expertise in areas consistent with my practice experience and research interests, including: the National Nursing Home Social Work Network, the Research Committee for the Ohio Attorney General’s Elder Abuse Commission, and the Ohio Supreme Court Subcommittee on Adult Guardianship. I have recently completed two appointed terms on the Global Commission of the Council on Social Work Education and chaired the Partners in International Education Award Committee for several years. Additionally, I have been actively involved on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Association of Gerontology Education (OAGE) to provide opportunities for 黑料社区s and aging services providers to engage in research, education, and practice.
