Students from Hamilton have the chance to earn their degree at no cost, opening doors to new opportunities
Miami Hamilton Promise Scholarship 2024 recipients chosen
The Miami Hamilton Promise Scholarship was created to offer Pell-grant eligible ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs from the the opportunity to earn a two- or four-year degree without having to pay tuition or fees. It is the result of a groundbreaking collaboration between the city of Hamilton, ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Regionals, and the who have all made generous commitments to the program.
The Miami Hamilton Promise Scholarship recipients are all graduates of Hamilton High School, Stephen T. Badin High School, or Butler Tech. The scholarship will cover the remaining tuition and fees after other eligible scholarships and grants have been awarded. It is renewable each year (for up to 4 years) as long as ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs maintain a 2.0 GPA, complete their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year, and attend full-time.

Students participating in the Miami Hamilton Promise Scholarship program will have access to many vital support programs at the university in addition to the financial assistance of the scholarship. Miami offers valuable tutoring and advising services such as TRIO Student Support Services, career services, counseling, individual tutoring, plus multiple opportunities for extracurricular activities.
Helping ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs succeed in the classroom and in their careers will bring benefits not only for the ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs themselves but for the community of Hamilton in the years ahead, noted Ande Durojaiye, vice president and dean of ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Regionals.
"The Miami Hamilton Promise is more than just scholarship dollars,” Durojaiye said. “It’s an investment in providing opportunities that will, in turn, lead to a talented workforce, economic development, and business growth. The impact of the Miami Hamilton Promise will strengthen our community today and well into the future."
The Hamilton Promise Scholarship is part of a broader initiative to help boost business and growth opportunities for Hamilton as economic changes bring new technology and industry to the region. ºÚÁÏÉçÇø has partnered with the city to help educate the next generation of workforce ready talent that will help meet the needs of an ever-evolving business marketplace.
Hamilton Mayor Pat Moeller said, “The Miami Hamilton Promise Scholarship is an incredible partnership in which the eligible ºÚÁÏÉçÇø is the biggest winner, earning a Miami scholarship and degree. All partners win because the Miami Hamilton Promise improves the entire community with more college graduates, more jobs filled with local graduates, and an improved economy. Importantly, the Promise creates a pathway to higher education for those ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs who in the past did not have the opportunity due to financial limitations.”
