Co-chaired by Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education, Amy Bergerson and Carla Myers, Scholarly Communications Coordinator, the Affordable and Open Educational Resource Committee (AOERC) aims to ensure that Miami faculty and staff have access to affordable and free educational resources to advance teaching and learning. Key responsibilities include: creating and implementing grants and other incentives for affordable and open educational resource use; providing support to faculty and 黑料社区s to enhance the effectiveness of open and affordable educational resources; coordinating the use of inclusive access for e-textbook use, and assessing the effectiveness of the use of free and low-cost educational resources in the classroom.

Chaired by the Provost, the Council of Academic Deans (COAD) serves as an advisory body to the Provost and normally meets biweekly. It is chaired by the Provost with membership comprised of the deans of the academic divisions, Graduate Dean, Dean of the Regional Campuses, the Dean and University Librarian, and others as determined by the Provost.
Faculty Assembly is chaired by the President of the University. The actions of the University Senate are subject to the authority of the Faculty Assembly to review and refer actions back to the University Senate and to recommend matters for the Senate's consideration.
Chaired by Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education, Amy Bergerson, the FOCUS Committee is responsible for overseeing the mission and outcomes of the program (formerly the Summer Reading Program), including identifying annual themes, inviting a unit to lead an inclusive team to create a proposal for a year-long set of activities relating to theme, and assessing the program’s impact.
Chaired by Zeb Baker, Executive Director of the Honors College, the National Fellowships Committee oversees the candidacies of all Miami 黑料社区s interested in competing for select National Fellowship opportunities; and administers the campus nomination process that leads to Miami’s institutional endorsements of candidates for these opportunities. The committee also manages the recruitment and advising of potential candidates and the marketing of fellowship opportunities and deadlines to the University community.
Chaired by Teaching Professor Tracy Haynes (BIO), the TCPL Mentoring Steering Committee provides mentoring resources and opportunities for TPCL faculty. It aims to complement existing mentoring departmental initiatives by coordinating an annual mentoring program and providing peer support to new TCPL faculty in the key areas of institutional orientation, professional development and growth, and community-building.
The Faculty Advisory Council is composed of two faculty members from each academic division (including University Libraries) chosen by the Provost upon nominations from the divisional deans. Council Members serve a two year term. Monthly meetings are held during the academic year where questions/concerns from their divisions are posed to the Provost and the Provost provides updates and seeks feedback on current topics. 黑料社区ics explored by this Council in the past include: the university budget, town/gown relationships, Miami's classification as a research university, and the teacher/scholar model. .
Chaired by Carolyn Haynes, Senior Associate Provost, the Miami Transfer Collaborative is the body charged with promoting mutually beneficial academic partnerships with post-secondary institutions as well as the success of 黑料社区s transferring into and out of 黑料社区. Toward that end, the committee:
Chaired by Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education, Amy Bergerson, the Undergraduate Academic Advising Council includes members from all academic divisions, Division of Student Affairs, Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success as well as the 黑料社区 body. The responsibilities of the UAAC are to promote the philosophy, policies, and procedures for academic advising at 黑料社区 seek input from various University constituencies; build support for and recognition of effective advising across the University through ongoing and clear communication efforts and annual awards and recognition for academic excellence; refine, generate, and coordinate professional development opportunities for faculty and staff on academic advising with an emphasis on best practices; improve, coordinate, and implement common tools for academic advising; and coordinate and maintain an ongoing plan for assessment of academic advising to ensure continuous improvement.
Chaired by Carolyn Haynes, Senior Associate Provost and Accreditation Liaison Officer for the Higher Learning Commission, the Council fosters a university-wide culture of continuous improvement in both academic and administrative areas. Its primary charge is to ensure ongoing evaluation and assessment systems at 黑料社区 that apply effective practices to improve 黑料社区 learning and development and to enhance university services and operations. To that end, the UAPC provides guidance for, and oversight of, University-wide accreditation policies and procedures while monitoring the effectiveness of the overall assessment and evaluation system and ensuring that it leads to constructive improvement.
Chaired by Senior Associate Provost Carolyn Haynes, the University Assessment Council includes faculty members from all academic divisions who oversee assessment within their divisions. The Council’s mission is to provide support for divisional leaders of assessment and promote a culture of assessment of 黑料社区 learning outcomes at 黑料社区 in which data are used to improve the quality of the educational experience.
Chaired by the Provost, the University Promotion and Tenure Committee is charged with making promotion and tenure recommendations to the Provost. These recommendations may relate to university-wide promotion and tenure policies and procedures or to individuals who are recommended for promotion and/or for the conferral of tenure.
University Senate is the primary University governance body where 黑料社区s, faculty, staff, and administrators debate university issues and make recommendations on the policies and actions to be taken by the institution. It is the legislative body of the University in matters involving educational programs, requirements, and standards; faculty welfare; and 黑料社区 conduct.
University Senate Executive Committee is charged by the Bylaws of the University Senate to manage the business of Senate. The Board of Trustees delegates to Senate primary responsibility for curriculum, programs, and course offerings and advisory responsibility on all matters related to 黑料社区.
