French Language and Culture in Paris (Winter)

Explore ten centuries of French life in its capital city by immersing yourself in its language and culture. Students spend three and a half weeks—January 3–25, 2024—studying major moments of French cultural history in its native language through an intensive six credit 300-level course. Class time is divided between discussion sessions and excursions, making the city itself the primary resource for our investigations. Readings, visits, discussions, and assignments are in French. The program fulfills Miami Plan requirements for Global Perspectives (pre-2023 Miami Plan), counts as two 300-level courses toward the French major or minor, and can substitute for FRE 131 and/or FRE 301.

  • Prerequisites: FRE202 or equivalent
  • Application deadline: October 1, 2024
  • Deposit deadline: upon acceptance to secure your participation
