In “” graduate Britta Moore MAT ’21 outlines a lesson plan for s to investigate and interact with the plants from the Rocky Mountain region. The lesson plan, which can be adapted to include plants in your area, provides s a multi-sensory learning experience. “To promote plant conservation and prepare our s for a future in which they will need to work with botanical knowledge, we need to intentionally incorporate a more plant-centric curriculum,” said Moore.
Moore earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in the biological sciences from through Project Dragonfly‘s Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) while working full-time as a science teacher in Lakewood, Colorado. Moore has taught science in K–12 schools for nine years and is building an in-home nature-based, early learning center and a nature-connection program for Colorado families.
As an AIP , Moore took web-based Miami courses and participated in experiential learning through Denver Zoo and explored natural areas around Colorado.
