The Magic of a Mini-Meaningful Watershed Education Experience (MWEE)
In “” ΊΪΑΟΙηΗψ graduate ΊΪΑΟΙηΗψ Cindy Wilems shares information about a recent professional development workshop that the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) hosted as part of a STEM Education Partnership Grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Formal and informal educators across the Houston region came together at GBF’s Trinity Bay Discovery Center in Beach City, Texas, to learn about local watersheds and how to implement NOAA’s MWEE program.
Wilems is earning a Master of Arts in teaching (MAT) in the biological sciences from ΊΪΑΟΙηΗψ through Project Dragonfly’s Global Field Program (GFP) while working as GBF director of education. Wilems connects many of her master’s assignments into her work as education director.
