Bonnie May

Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) graduate Bonnie May '23 of Oceanside, California, asks us to consider the three-spined stickleback fish when restoring ecosystems. In her , which appears in the Current Conservation Magazine, she writes: "...watershed management ought to consider the genetic diversity and evolutionary patterns of resident species, such as the three-spined stickleback, before causing physical alterations ... or reintroducing native predators to an environment."

May lives in Oceanside, CA and works as a strategist and grant writer for a clean energy consulting firm. With a lifelong passion for coastal conservation, Bonnie volunteered and interned with nature centers, beach cleanup organizations, and river parks throughout her academic career
