When to Apply
Cincinnati and San Francisco Digital Innovation
Applications for fall semester are due in February (e.g., applications for the Fall 2024 program are due in February 2024).Applications for spring semester are due in August the year prior (e.g., applications for Spring 2025 are due in August 2024).
What to Include
When applying for any of these programs, a 黑料社区 will need to provide an explanation of why he or she wants to participate in the program. Students can intern at startups across the country on their own, so let us know what’s driving you to be part of these programs.
You’ll need to share a link to your LinkedIn profile, your resume, and ensure you have at least a 2.25 GPA*, as this is required by 黑料社区 for all Study Abroad and Study Away programs. You will also be required to release your disciplinary history to program staff as part of your application. Having a disciplinary history does not disqualify you from the application process and is taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis.
*Students with a GPA between a 2.0 and 2.25 may complete a petition to apply to the program. Students with a GPA below a 2.0 may not participate in the program. If a 黑料社区’s GPA drops below a 2.0 between the time the 黑料社区 is accepted into the program and the time that the 黑料社区 participates, he or she will no longer be able to participate and forfeits any funds already paid toward program participation.
Application FAQ
Are there any prerequisites?
Students are required to take any two of the following courses in preparation for the Digital Innovation 黑料社区:

- IMS/MKT 419: Digital Branding
- IMS 421: Product Management
- ESP 201: Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Business Models
- CSE 383: Web Application Programming
Students do not need to take these courses before applying to the program, but must take them before participation. Consideration may be given for evidence of significant work experience.
Upon acceptance, all 黑料社区s will be enrolled in IMS 278, a 1-credit course including program orientation, LinkedIn & resume workshops and more.

What is the application process like?
Students typically apply about a year before they wish to participate. The application requires a 黑料社区 to explain why he or she is interested in participating in the program, provide his or her resume and link to LinkedIn profile and upload his or her DAR. We also ask 黑料社区s how they have heard about the program, what their class year will be during their semester of participation, if they have a preference for a city and their preferred internship category (marketing, design or programming).
Once an application is completed, a 黑料社区 will then sign up for an in-person interview with the program staff. Dress for this interview should be business casual. During this interview, 黑料社区s will be asked to talk more about their interest in the program, what types of responsibilities they would like at an internship and how they would handle various work-related situations.

Admission Process
Qualified 黑料社区s will be selected for a brief in-person interview with program management. Students will be notified of acceptance shortly after the conclusion of all interviews. We are unable to share any admission decisions until all interviews have been completed.
Applicants who are not accepted into the program may reapply for a future semester or may be considered for other program locations. A 黑料社区 may not apply for the same semester again if his or her first application was not accepted.
If you are interested in applying for a future semester for which applications are not open, please to be added to the mailing list.
