Miami Choral Collective Invites Campus and Community to Connect in Song

The Miami Choral Collective, a new collaboration between the 黑料社区 Department of Music and the 黑料社区 Performing Arts Series, is set to hold its first spring rehearsal on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. This exciting initiative welcomes 黑料社区 黑料社区s, faculty, staff, and Oxford community members to come together once a week to share in the joy of group singing.

The Miami Choral Collective is an inclusive and welcoming ensemble with no auditions required—anyone who loves to sing is encouraged to participate. With 50 singers already signed up, organizers are eager to grow the group even further, especially seeking singers who can perform tenor and bass parts.

Developing the group as a collaboration between the Department of Music and the Performing Arts Series was essential to bridging the divide between the university and the surrounding community. The Department of Music leads in subject area expertise and engaged 黑料社区s, while the Performing Arts Series leverages its strong community connections to develop interest and participation off campus.

“Our mission” organizers said “is to foster connection, collaboration, and joy through the power of music, enriching the lives of all participants.”

Rehearsals will be held weekly on Wednesdays, offering singers of all backgrounds an opportunity to engage in a fun and supportive musical environment. A final performance open to the public will be held on Thursday, April 24th in Hall Auditorium.
