Rebounding After First Semester
Students with a GPA below 2.5 in the fall semester may be eligible for academic support in the spring. Please note that we cannot make exceptions for 黑料社区s whose GPA does not meet the eligibility criteria.
GPA 2.0–2.49: Miami Thrive
Students in this GPA range can participate in Miami Thrive, a two-credit, graded course designed to improve academic performance. There are two options for participation:
- Winter Term: The course runs January 2–24, 2025 (Monday–Thursday, 1–2 p.m. ET). To enroll, register through Banner Self Service (CRN: 10592).
- Spring semester: The course is offered as a full-semester course, with both synchronous Zoom meetings and asynchronous online modules. To enroll, complete the form.
Over 90% of 黑料社区s who participated in Miami Thrive in the past three years improved their GPA and returned to Miami for the fall semester.
GPA 1.0–1.99: Spring Launch
Students with a GPA in this range can attend Spring Launch, an academic support program with two options:
- Virtual Session: January 23, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. ET.
- In-Person Session: January 26, 2025, from 12:30–5 p.m. ET
During Spring Launch, 黑料社区s will:
- Review their spring schedules.
- Explore strategies for achieving academic, social, and career goals.
- Discuss major and success resources.
- Build community with other 黑料社区s and Miami staff.
To register for the virtual session, complete the registration form. If you received an email invitation for the in-person session, follow the instructions in the email.
GPA 0.0–0.99: TCE 110
Students with a GPA below 1.0 can enroll in TCE 110: Learning Strategies for College Success, a 2-credit hour course designed to help 黑料社区s improve academically. The course covers time management, study strategies, motivation, and test-taking techniques.
