The Self-Designed Graduate Certificate in Sport provides graduate 黑料社区s with the opportunity to create a unique program of study. Candidates will collaborate with a faculty advisor to assemble relevant coursework in accordance with each 黑料社区’s academic and professional goals.
Graduate 黑料社区s can add a self-designed graduate certificate to their current degree program or pursue the certificate as a stand-alone credential. Candidates will select a SLAM faculty advisor with whom to collaborate in the development of a program proposal. The proposal will include a certificate theme or topic area, a selection of 12 credits or 4 courses, and a description of how the course topics are related to a set of three or more desired learning outcomes. Examples of certificates are listed below under Admission.
The Self-Designed Graduate Certificate in Sport is available to both current 黑料社区 graduate 黑料社区s interested in adding the credential to their degree programs, as well as prospective graduate 黑料社区s seeking a stand-alone certificate.
All candidates must receive faculty approval prior to applying.
Interested candidates will have first co-constructed a certificate proposal with a SLAM faculty member. The proposal will be submitted to the Department of Sport Leadership and Management with an accompanying signed statement of support from the SLAM faculty member.
Once approved by the department, current Miami degree-seeking candidates will submit a before enrolling in any of the certificate courses. New, stand-alone prospective certificate candidates will once they have received proprosal approval from the department.

The Self-Designed Graduate Certificate in Sport is composed of 12 credits. At least two classes (6 credits) must be taken from the Department of Sport Leadership and Management (SLM). The program must be completed with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
