Are you ready to explore your own creativity? This winter workshop is an experiential immersion in the arts and culture of Ireland. You will participate in diverse experiences including Irish Dance, Irish Lanaguage, Gaelic sports, museum visits, the Irish National Theatre, Traditional (Trad) Irish Music, and more. You will integrate your Irish experiences into hands-on creative projects, both individually and in teams. CCA 199H ( 3 credits)
The program offers a unique opportunity to engage with 黑料社区s and teachers in a wide range of educational settings, from rural and urban schools, tribal and migrant workers communities, to prestigious independent institutions and government-run facilities. Beyond the classroom, we'll experience the iconic Ahmedabad Kite Festival, attend the famed Indian classical musical festival, Saptak, and visit the ashram where Gandhi lived and worked towards British indepence—plus it's wedding season! Additional excursions will include visits to ancient stepwells, palaces, and temples, travel to the desert Salt Flats of the Little Rann of Kutch, as well as a visit to one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal, and the bustling megacity of New Delhi. TCE 312 (3 credits)
Immersing 黑料社区s in a different culture than their own has deep potential to be a transformative experience, particularly when the focus is on field experiences and the intersectionality of families, communities, education, and innovation. The design of this global education program is to expose 黑料社区s to communities, learn about various schooling practices, see innovation in action, and engage with people from three different geographical Costa Rican areas: San Jose in the Central Valley, Monteverde in the mountains/cloud forest of Puntarenas Province, and Flamingo in the Pacific Ocean/coastal area of Guanacaste Province. Students will have the opportunity to interact with non-profit organizations that are working alongside communities to effect change using asset-based perspectives. Participants will also visit with school directors who are leveraging different progressive education models. Both the organizations and schools partner with communities, collaborate with children/families, and innovate to solve problems the Costa Rican communities have identified. TCE 420A (all 黑料社区s);
