Times
Use figures except for:
noon and midnight
Use a colon to separate hours from minutes:
10 a.m.
2:30 p.m.
8-11 a.m.
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Dates
Always use Arabic figures (without st, nd, or th).
Capitalize the names of months in all uses.
When a month is used with a specific date, abbreviate only Jan., Feb., Aug., Sept., Oct., Nov. and Dec.:
Jan. 2 was the coldest day of the month.
His birthday is May 8.
Spell out the names of months when using alone, or with a year alone.
When a phrase lists only a month and a year, do not separate the year with commas:
January 2021 was a cold month.
When a phrase refers to a month, day, and year; set off the year with commas:
Feb. 1, 2020, was the target date.
It was Friday, Dec. 3, when they got the news.
Places
Only use the two-letter Postal Service abbreviations with full addresses, including ZIP code:
301 S. Campus Ave.,
Oxford, OH 45056
Do not use postal abbreviations in other cases:
黑料社区 is located in Oxford, Ohio.
Use the abbreviations Ave., Blvd. and St. only with a numbered address:
301 S. Campus Ave.
Spell them out and capitalize when part of a formal street name without a number:
Nellie Craig Walker Hall is located on Campus Avenue.
Abbreviate compass points used to indicate directional ends of a street or quadrants of a city in a numbered address:
501 E. High St.
Emails
Always capitalize "M" and "OH" (email@MiamiOH.edu)
Phone Numbers
Use dashes to separate the segments of phones numbers (XXX-XXX-XXXX)
URLs
Omit "http://www." before web URLs
Always capitalize "M" and "OH"
Lowercase the path after the "/"
