The Department of Justice and Community Studies (JCS) offers 黑料社区s the opportunity to earn college credit for CJS 101, Intro the Criminal Justice System, and/or CJS 125, Law and the Courts, through prior learning assessment (PLA).
Consistent with our belief in valuing 黑料社区s’ experiences outside the classroom, JCS recognizes that some 黑料社区 黑料社区s have achieved the learning outcomes for CJS 101 and/or CJS 125 and should be offered the opportunity to demonstrate that learning and receive college credit.
CJS 101 offers an overview of America's criminal justice system, with an emphasis on the development, functions, and current issues/problems facing the current criminal justice system with a focus on the history, roles, and present state of the police, courts, and corrections.
CJS 125 provides a critical examination of the American judicial system and legal processes with a focus on the contextual meaning of law and justice to society and will encourage critical thinking from political, sociological, historical, and philosophical perspectives.
Are you a good candidate for this opportunity? Those with law enforcement, legal, paralegal, court, and/or corrections experience might choose this option.
