The Miami Youth Hockey Association is dedicated to developing hockey players with strong character and values, and to support the goals and ambitions of our members in a safe and educational environment.

Why Miami?

  • Goggin Ice Center is a premiere facility not only in college hockey but in the entire country.
  • Miami has committed the resources needed to run an organized and top-quality program.
  • Miami Youth Hockey will be operated and run by individuals who have played and coached hockey at the collegiate level and higher and will be dedicated solely to operating hockey programs out of the Goggin Ice Center.
  • Miami’s Varsity hockey team is committed to developing a mentoring program for all members of Miami Youth Hockey.
  • We will develop players on and off the ice to a standard of excellence.

Values

  • Professionalism: Members of Miami Youth Hockey will represent Miami and our association professionally and courteously at all times.

Advisory Board

We recognize the importance of having parents involved in the development of this program. We will have an advisory board consisting of parents, coaches, and administrative staff set up to offer advice on the direction of the program. This provides a platform for input from all individuals involved within the program and creates a strong foundation to support Miami Youth Hockey.

House League

Our House League is your first team experience with hockey! Participating in a full season from mid-October to mid-March, players will have two practices and one game each week. Our House League players have advanced from Learn to Play Hockey and have a strong foundation of skating skills. These skating skills are reinforced and improved throughout the season, in addition to a better understanding of hockey and how it is played. Games are played on half-ice to encourage more puck touches and skill development.

The 8U League is for players eight years old and under and the 10U League is for nine and ten-year olds. Both leagues have four teams that will practice and play together. All games and practices are held at the Goggin Ice Center, and all registered players are placed on a team.

Travel Hockey

Travel Hockey is for the committed hockey player looking for a higher level of competition. The Jr. RedHawks have travel teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School age classifications. With full-time hockey directors and a dedicated coaching staff, the Jr. RedHawks can implement a developmental approach to allow our players to progress at all stages within our program and advance to higher levels when ready.

Positions on our Travel Teams are secured through tryouts, where players are selected for teams where they will have the best opportunity to continue their development. Teams are dependent on the number of participants. These teams practice twice a week and play games on the weekend, both at home at the Goggin Ice Center and away at opposing rinks within the tri-state area.

Detailed information on the travel program is available by visiting the .
