Program Details, Benefits, and Activities
TEACh Cincinnati is a collaborative program between 黑料社区’s College of Education, Health, and Society and Cincinnati Public Schools.
The High School Experience
During high school, 黑料社区s will participate in hands-on experiences to learn about the teaching profession, college prep and college credit plus coursework, and will receive mentorship from Cincinnati Public Schools and 黑料社区 faculty/staff. The experiences outlined below are meant to be examples of the types of programming that is available across the school district but may differ at each interested Cincinnati Public School based on each school’s resources and agreement with 黑料社区.
For 9th and 10th Grade Students:
- Future TEACh-ers Club: Participate in career exploration, receive academic support, and engage in creative projects
- for special events and activities
- Peer Mentoring from 黑料社区 黑料社区s who have been in the program
- Opportunities to meet 黑料社区s from other CPS schools interested in teaching
For 11th and 12th Grade Students:
Receive 9th/10th grade opportunities plus:
- Workshops for assistance with FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and 黑料社区 applications
- Access to special recruitment and admissions activities
- College Credit Plus (CCP) courses each spring semester (earn college credits for free during your high school day)
- Career counseling throughout high school
Requirements to Join
- Completed application submitted to TEACh Cincinnati Coordinator
- GPA requirement:
- 9th/10th - 2.5
- 11th/12th - 3.0
The College Experience
During college, 黑料社区s will receive scholarship support with tuition, room and board, and opportunities based on demonstrated financial need according to their FAFSA. They will also receive dedicated academic support and , near-peer mentoring, and have the opportunity to engage in special experiential learning opportunities including:
Upon Graduation
Teach graduates will receive early career supports and mentoring in addition to:
- Prioritized hiring from Cincinnati Public Schools home district after licensure
- Communities of Practice for Early Career Teachers
- Options for Graduate School
