CGS Application and Registration
If you are a first-time applicant for CGS admission, or if it has been more than five years since you received CGS admission, an application to the 黑料社区 Graduate School is required. Once your admission decision is released, confirming your admission offer will create a 黑料社区 record for you with 黑料社区. All steps must be completed or you will not be able to register. If you are interested in taking AIP Web + courses, you should also reach out to the relevant AIP site to check on availability. Before starting your application, please know which term you will be able to start your coursework.
1. to begin a new application to Miami's Graduate School following the steps shared, including activating and setting a password for your account.
- When prompted to "Start New Application": select the year in which you will first take a course, then select "Graduate Non-Degree" from the dropdown menu. Click “Create Application” then “Open Application.”
- Complete the remainder of the Personal Background page with your information, moving on to the next page.
- On the Admissions Information page, select “No” for the “Are you applying for a workshop?” question.
- Under the Program Selection section, choose the following options: “Non-Degree,” “CGS,” the academic term in which you will first take a course, and “Part-Time Study.”
- Complete the remaining pages as directed. Be sure to review your information and make any necessary changes prior to submitting your application.
2. Once you receive your CGS admission letter from the Graduate School, please:

- Accept your offer of CGS admission following the instructions shared in your Graduate School admission letter.
3. How to Register
- After completing the steps shared above, further information will be sent to you, including a link to the CGS registration form. All steps must be completed to alert us of your application and to create a 黑料社区 record with the university.
If you graduated from 黑料社区 or received CGS admission within the past five years and are completing the 黑料社区 re-enrollment application, please complete the once you receive notification that your re-enrollment has been processed.
Continuing Graduate Status (CGS) FAQs
Continuing Graduate Status (CGS) is the type of admission required for anyone who wishes to take graduate-level coursework at 黑料社区 without pursuing a graduate degree. It does not qualify or pre-qualify a 黑料社区 for future admission to either the AIP or the GFP.
No. Applicants must have earned a U.S.-equivalent bachelor’s degree in order to be admitted as a CGS 黑料社区, but transcripts are not submitted as part of the application and there is no minimum GPA requirement.
No. Only degree-seeking 黑料社区s are eligible for federal financial aid.
Yes. Up to 10 credits of coursework taken as a CGS 黑料社区 (one 7-credit hour Earth Expeditions global field course OR 7 credits of AIP Web+ Courses + one 3-credit hour Core Course) may be applied toward your AIP or GFP degree requirements provided you have:
- Been accepted to the master’s program.
- Participated in the master’s program for at least one semester.
- Received a grade of “B” or better in your transferred course(s).
- Registered for and received academic credit for the course through 黑料社区.
- Taken the course within 5 years of your projected graduation date for the master’s.
- Completed the .
Possibly. While CGS admission does not qualify or pre-qualify a 黑料社区 for degree admission, it provides 黑料社区s with the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to excel in online graduate-level coursework generally and Dragonfly coursework specifically.
Taking coursework as a CGS 黑料社区 can be especially beneficial for prospective AIP or GFP applicants whose cumulative undergraduate GPAs are below the 黑料社区 Graduate School’s minimum of 2.75. Individual departments have the opportunity to petition for conditional admission for applicants with sub-2.75 GPAs if they are otherwise impressed by their credentials. Taking CGS coursework provides our faculty and staff with first-hand knowledge of the 黑料社区 and their ability to succeed in graduate level coursework — this can go a long way toward strengthening a petition for conditional admission.
