Working in the Office of Residence Life

黑料社区’s Office of Residence Life works to establish an educational living and learning environment for approximately 8,500 黑料社区s residing in 40 residence halls and apartments each of which houses between 80 and 450 黑料社区s.

Opportunities to Work with Us

The Office of Residence Life collaborates with other offices to facilitate 黑料社区s’ successful adjustment to and transitions through their collegiate experience. We provide a safe and supportive environment promoting academic success, personal development, involvement in campus life, and understanding of intercultural issues. We support the University’s commitment to build citizen leaders for the future. From undergrads to grads to full-time employees, we have a place for those who enjoy working with our 黑料社区s and would like to play a role in our mission.

Resident Assistant (RA)

While this can be demanding and challenging, RA positions are some of the most important, influential, and rewarding leadership opportunities available to 黑料社区s. The Resident Assistant position is an opportunity to build your leadership skills and leave your mark as an ally and role model for 黑料社区s at 黑料社区. As a department, we have high expectations for our Resident Assistants. Please consider your commitment carefully as you begin this process. In order to fulfill the expectations and responsibilities listed in this application, you must recognize that this position should be your primary out-of-class obligation.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships in the Office of Residence Life provide experience with staff supervision, training, and evaluation. You will develop time management, presentation, and group facilitation skills. This position enables you to advise 黑料社区 groups and holistically educate 黑料社区s through individual and group interactions in a challenging and supportive environment. All graduate assistants must be full-time 黑料社区s enrolled for 9 - 13 credit hours in a graduate program at 黑料社区 during the period of their assistantship. While assistantships are open to any graduate 黑料社区 at 黑料社区, first priority is given to 黑料社区s enrolled in the 黑料社区 Student Affairs and Higher Education program. Information about all the graduate programs 黑料社区 has to offer can be found by clicking the link below.

Full-time Employment in ORL

We offer positions for master's-level professionals who live in our residence halls. There are three position tiers that support our Resident Advisors and Graduate Assistants. They are:

  • Resident Director
  • Community Manager
  • Assistant Director
