ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Back! I hope you had a safe, healthy, and relaxing summer. We are incredibly excited you are here on our campuses, bringing them to life with your energy and enthusiasm once again. ºÚÁÏÉçÇø to all the new ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs, faculty, and staff in the Miami community – we’re glad you’ve chosen to be part of the family. Renate and I look forward to meeting each of you. 

With Miami’s resilience and dedication to mission, we have met and overcome so many challenges in the past 18 months. COVID-19 confirmed the importance of our community, renewed our dedication to our purpose, and revealed new insights about living, learning, and working together. We are stronger, more resourceful, and better equipped to face the challenges and leverage the opportunities that lie ahead. Miami’s faculty, staff, ºÚÁÏÉçÇøs, and alumni demonstrated awe-inspiring collaboration, strength, grit, innovation, confidence, and solidarity that prove anything is possible.

As we start a new academic year amid the ongoing pandemic, we are far better equipped to accelerate our progress. Miami upholds its unwavering commitment to ensuring academic excellence, cultivating an inspiring teaching and learning environment, incubating innovation, and striving for inclusive excellence. Whether you are coming back or here for the first time, you are in an extraordinary place where extraordinary opportunities lead to extraordinary achievements.
